Dustin Olson, Managing Partner at Olson Strategies and lead pollster at American Pulse Research & Polling, joined Newsmax’s National Report to discuss polling on border security, immigration enforcement, and former Vice President Kamala Harris’s new book, 107 Days.
The panel reacted to Border Czar Tom Homan sparring with MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski after she accused ICE of “disappearing people.” Olson said the rhetoric was reckless and dangerous:
“You have law enforcement out there who are doing their best to protect our country, and she’s using the term ‘disappearing.’ That’s what regimes around the world do to their political opponents... it makes law enforcement a target for violence, which I think is just horrible.”
Olson pointed to recent polling showing strong public support for border enforcement:
“Our polling—and that of others—shows majorities of Americans support securing our borders and enforcing immigration laws. Harvard-Harris found 75% want violent illegal immigrants removed, and 67% support most immigration enforcement policies.”
The conversation turned to former Vice President Kamala Harris’ upcoming book, 107 Days, which covers her short-lived presidential campaign and revelations from book excerpts that she appears to blame President Joe Biden for what happened in 2024. Olson didn’t mince words:
“Just the title of the book is itself an excuse—107 Days. She’s trying to tell us, ‘I was only in the race for a short period of time. None of this is my fault.’ She has a whole career of failures, and this campaign was one of the biggest ones.”
