Dustin Olson, Managing Partner at Olson Strategies, joined National Report on Newsmax to discuss the Democrats’ now-infamous “Seditious Six” video, and Sen. Mark Kelly’s transparent attempt to turn the controversy into a presidential launchpad. Olson also underscored the video response by Republican veterans in Congress, warning service members to guard their careers from reckless political advice that politicians like Slotkin and Kelly won’t back up when lives and livelihoods are on the line.
To start, they analyzed the fallout from the Democrats’ now-infamous “Seditious Six” video, and Sen. Mark Kelly’s obvious attempt to ride the controversy into a presidential bid.
“He [Sen. Mark Kelly] is obviously someone who's in the hot seat right now because of his own actions. But I will say, you see him out there on this tour, he does look like someone who's running for president at this point. Going back to the video that they released, I don't know if he and Slotkin really understood what was going to happen with that, but whoever organized it, they did so in a way that it was going to get this reaction.”
To close out the segment, they highlighted the video response from Republican veterans in Congress, warning service members not to risk their careers on reckless political advice.
"It's smart and it's good to get counter messaging out there. Ultimately, the Democrats said in that video that they had your back…they would not have your back. If you were to go against lawful orders just because you thought they were illegal, you are going to get yourself into really hot water. So it's good the Republicans did that because these young men and women would be in a lot of trouble.”
